OCEANSIDE — A 26-year-old man is being held on a multimillion-dollar bail after allegedly stabbing his wife to death.
Jose Luis Orozco is being held on $4 million bail for allegedly killing his wife, Beatriz Orozco, in the early morning hours of June 24.
Oceanside police Sgt. Kelan Poorman said Orozco was hospitalized with stab wounds after he was found next to his deceased wife around 1 a.m.
Beatriz Orozco, who is survived by her mother in Mexico, was bludgeoned to death, an investigator with San Diego Medical Examiner’s Office said.
According to police, Orozco killed his wife after he found out she was having an affair. The victim’s boyfriend was reportedly in front of the Orozco’s Alabar Way residence when authorities arrived. He said he had tried to distract the husband by breaking through the upstairs window.
The boyfriend’s name has not been released due to the ongoing investigation, police said.
Orozco is scheduled to appear July 10 for further court proceedings.
